The proposal...

He wanted to get the perfect ring for her. After Neera settled on the ring details she loved, Rob (with Angela's help) set out to customize something amazing. However, they didn't realize how long the process would take. Months later, with the Monte Verde Inn booked for August 29th but no ring to be seen, the suspense was killing her.  She said, "I don't care if its a Life Saver, just put it on my finger!" 

Finally, in January of 2015, the couple took a spontaneous drive up to Napa for a picnic. It was a gorgeous and sunny day and they had packed a delicious meal for two. Rob seemed intent on finding a spot that was private and intimate, and it wasn't until after some significant time spent driving around that they found a grassy and secluded spot off to the side of the road. In spite of the obvious planning of their wedding, Rob still got a little nervous. He got down on one knee and began telling Neera that he loves her and is so excited to share his life with her. Grinning, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out... a package of gummy Life Savers. He put one on her ring finger. 

Neera's first response was confusion, and she tentatively asked (with a huge smile on her face, of course), "Is the ring still not ready yet?" Rob then laughed and reached into another pocket, unveiling the real engagement ring. Even after the months of waiting, she was in disbelief at the sight of it and overcome with joy and excitement. 

This was a special day - full of the playfulness and romance that is so indicative of their life together, every day.
